As an associate attorney, Emilio Dominguez concentrates his practice on commercial litigation, business related disputes, and first-party insurance litigation. Emilio primarily represents companies and individuals in an array of commercial disputes, including breach of contract actions, enforcement of restrictive covenants, business dissolutions, and business torts. Additionally, Emilio also practices in pre-litigation and litigation insurance matters involving property insurance disputes.

For years, Emilio has litigated and resolved numerous related insurance matters throughout the State of Florida. He has built a reputation for implementing creative litigation strategies proven to result in favorable outcomes for his clients. More than a litigator, Emilio has also applied the litigation skills he has developed over the years to consult businesses in their everyday transactions, including drafting and negotiating contracts and minimizing liability exposure.

Emilio was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and is fluent in Spanish. During law school, Emilio completed over 400+ hours of pro bono legal work committed to the areas of criminal and tax law.

Specifically, Emilio interned for the Federal Public Defender’s Office for the Southern District of Florida, as well as the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office. Emilio also prepared tax returns in the VITA program and assisted with the representation of indigent clients audited by the Internal Revenue Service.

Significant Representations:

- Obtained dismissal with prejudice in favor of insurance carrier on grounds that plaintiff lacked standing and failed to perfect a valid assignment agreement pursuant to Florida Statutes, leading to carrier’s entitlement to attorney’s fees and costs.

- Successfully defended and obtained summary judgment in favor of the insurance carrier on grounds that the carrier had been prejudiced in its investigation of a claim based on insured’s failure to comply with duties after loss, leading to carrier’s entitlement to attorney’s fees and costs.
